Our Mission

Hey Queens and Kings and everyone in between! My name is Nick, I’m gay and I love all things outdoors and in nature. When I first moved to Denver I didn’t really know anyone in the city and did a lot of searching for groups of like minded outdoor enthusiasts where I would feel safe and comfortable being my 100% gay self. I was shocked by how little there was. That got me thinking about the rest of the world as well. If this is lacking in such an outdoor centered city with a decent gay community, then it has to be an issue everywhere. So I set out to start something that can be accessed and shared everywhere so all queer identifying outdoor adventurers can come together and start exploring the world in a safe, fun, friendly environment

 

 

The Out Scout community's mission is to help fill, what I believe, is a giant hole in the outdoor industry. Not that the outdoors are inherently hetero, but I wanted to create a safe space for all LGBTQ+ family to learn, explore and get out in nature more! Being in the queer community we often don’t see ourselves in certain activities because of the way society looks at us, but we can be just as rugged and dirty as everyone else! My goal is to create an environment for everyone to come together and share experiences, create safe meet ups and educate one another on all things outdoors.
